The Discovery Channel had created a docu-soap that focused on a group of mountaineers ascending the tallest peak in the world.
To promote the show, Mindshare Hungary settled on the novel solution of recreating the drama in downtown Budapest. Two climbers spent
two weeks living, eating and sleeping on a small platform, 16 metres above a busy intersection. They kept a blog, which was supported by
radio and newspaper commentary. The campaign saw Discovery's numbers climbing, too, with viewership up 400% among the target market. |
