MEC @ Advertising Week 2015
2015 marks the 12th year of Advertising Week in New York City, among the largest annual gathering of thought leaders and game changers across marketing, media, advertising, creative, technology and entertainment. This year featured its most impressive roster of speakers, panelists and participants there to inspire, educate and entertain.
Due to demand from the community, seminars and workshops were streamed live, powered by MLB Advanced Media. Tracks ranged from Diversity & Inclusion to Disruption & Innovation, providing plenty of topics for passionate discussion and debate.
MEC puts a spotlight on 'talent'
AWXII marked the launch of MEC’s sponsorship of the inaugural Talent Track, designed to elevate conversation around talent innovation and engagement. The full day symposium spotlighted industry leaders and high-profile experts who shared best practices for identifying, attracting, nurturing and retaining talent, drawing from their personal experiences across diverse business and pop culture communities.
As a part of the program, MEC’s Global Chief Talent Officer Marie-Claire Barkerhosted an engaging session titled "What's the Business Case for Well-Being in the Workplace?” that explored the real benefits of investing in mindfulness and wellness initiatives to help employees tackle workplace stress.
MEC also hosted “Thriving in a Time of Disruption,” a panel moderated by Marla Kaplowitz, CEO of MEC North America, which focused on companies (IKEA, The New York Times, LinkedIn) that have survived modern day disruption and are rethinking the role of technology to reinvent the traditional workplace structure and approach. Panelists shared how they use the company's core values, mission and culture to build strong and connected teams that deliver real ROI.
MEC live hire
MEC didn’t just talk about talent, we invested in it. MEC’s Live Hire recruitment event focused on a new way of identifying ambitious and diverse rising stars through round-robin style interviews that assessed candidates against behaviors and cultural fit. The result was the same day hiring of 10 entry-level associates –all excited and eager to join our thriving team and help drive growth for our agency and our clients.
