The Reconstructed Consumer
by The Futures Company
The Reconstructed Consumer is a new study on attitudes among UK consumers in the context of the financial crisis; it updates the earlier Feeling the Pinch study from August 2008
The report is based on a nationally representative online survey of over 2000 UK adults, with fieldwork carried out in February 2009.
It looks at how consumers are managing their personal finances in the light of the economic downturn, using 'mental wallets' to prioritise spending in certain categories.
And it advises marketers on how to make the right strategic and marketing decisions over the coming 18 months. The report provides evidence that brands which lower their price during the economic crisis may suffer.
